This is going to sound ridiculous, but I've just been crying my eyes out because I want to make my baby a present (I'm 24 weeks), and I can't knit and don't really sew (except buttons on).

I know I'm being really silly hormonal, but any ideas?

Must be cheap as DH's company is credit crunched and has just announced a compulsory 4 day week (well, ideally they want 5 days' work with the fifth for free...)

Thanks for any ideas, need cheering up!

what about a memory box Just use a plain cardboard box with a lid and add bits of wallpaper ribbon cut out some teddies pictures from magazines photos etc. You could start by putting babys hospital wristband in it first scan photos and add things like a first pair of socks and scratch mitts the outfit you brought her/him out of hospital in their first tooth curl copy of birth certificate the cards they get at hospital photos of the flowers and presents etc and as they get older add their drawings school work certificates etc.

SOOOO many great suggestions! You all rule! Will definitely have a go at something simple, and will be careful where (or on whom) I stitch ducks

Love the photobook, blanket, scrap book, memory box ideas.

And good point, whomovedmychocolate, I have already made the baby a LOVELY placenta!
