I am so fed up already. My bump is huge, and can't stop getting comments that I look like I am already due. My back hurts all the time and I am sick daily now because of the pressure etc. I have heartburn so badly and gavison doesn't seem to even work now. I have a 1 year old who wants to be carried all the time and doesn't walk so I am having the added strain of carrying her. I am often sick or dizzy after holding her for more than a min.

Sorry, just feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment. If I was closer to my due date then I am sure I would cope with it better but to know I still have over 10 weeks left is just depressing.

I would LOVE for some reason to come up that I need to have the baby at 37 weeks. I know that is awful but thats all I keep thinking - less time being pregnant.

Am I right in thinking that they can just check BP and urine and if that is fine I def won't have it?

My mum has a blood pressue monitor, can I just use this and if my BP is fine wait till tuesday for a GP appointment?

soon2be.. I had a check for PE - not that I thought i had it but, but at a midwife appointment there was protein in my urine, which gave the MW cause for concern - turns out it was nothing, and my BP was fine, but I think that a quick urine and BP check will rule PE out - could your GP do that for you. I had bad headaches, lots of pain and dizzyness too, but that was just due to normal pregnancy stuff. Get checked out!

And I'm with you about being fed up of being pregnant - its no fun when you feel crap all the time

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/02/2009 09:37

I have an appointment at 5.50pm - do you think it is ok to wait until then?

Rascal, are you around? Sorry just starting to panic a bit!

OP posts:
lulu1414 · 09/02/2009 13:17

I was reading this and thought the exact thing that Rascal said. I also had severe pre-eclampsia and it was very serious and I do think you need to get checked out. Don't want to panic you, but it is serious and you shouldn't worry. Good that you are getting seen this eve.

i'm here...

lulu1414 · 09/02/2009 13:19

Sorry- ~I meant to say you shouldn't worry about wasting MW or docs time. And a quick urine check (make sure you take some in) and a check of your BP should give them an indication.

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/02/2009 13:22

Thank you lulu. I know there is nothing really that you can do by posting but it is really helping to discuss it on here. I have collected a urine sample and it is very dark orange. I saw online that this can be another symptom?

Sorry if this is TMI info but I did notice a few days ago that my poo was really funny colour - very light. I now have a bleach block thing in the loo so can't see really but "light stools" was another symptom on there.

Everything seems to be pointing to it! But I know I am probably panicking over nothing!

If they check my urine and BP and they are both fine - will that be the end of it?

I saw your other thread about dark urine- I really think you are doing absolutely the right thing by getting checked out. Dark urine is absolutely a symptom- I saw it first hand on the ward as we all had to collect urine every day!!!

As for poo- I never noticed that with me. But one thing I am aware of after being on the ward for 3 weeks with severe and early onset pre-eclampsia is that not everyone has the same symptoms or all the symptoms- I certainly didn't. Same with Rascal I really only swelled once I was in hospital. I never had wierd poo. I never really had dizzines or rib pain. It was caught because after a very easy pregnancy I suddenly started feeling in pain and "not myself". The problem is with Pre-E is that the symptoms are pretty much the same as one would expect in pregnancy!

I agree you will probably be ok and try not to panic, but it is so good that you are getting checked out.

The good news is that you are going to be seen and it will be sorted out. If your urine has not protein in it and your BP is fine that will be the end of it.

babyc · 09/02/2009 13:34

Hi, I hope you are feeling ok, and are still able to get to your doctor.
I know its hard to say, but try not to worry s that will only make your BP worse. I had my urine checked, which showed up protein, then had mp BP taken, which was fine. They then did some blood tests - not sure what for, and told me to keep a check of when I get headaches and have my BP & urine checked again in a week. Tests came back fine a fw days later, as did urine test. Still having really bad headaches and other pains, but def not PE.
It can be dangerous, but you are doing the best thing by going to the GP. If it is PE they will give you advice, which can just be to rest whilst they monitor you I think. Best thing is to find out and take it from there. I had several symptoms (not that I realised until routine urine test) but didn't have PE - fingers crossed you are the same

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/02/2009 14:09

Yes I am still able to get to the doctors - it worked out perfectly that it is evening as although it does mean leaving it abit late, I can go with no children, I haven't let anybody down and won't be in a hurry. And if they ask me to go to the hospital, maybe for blood tests or something then I will be able to.

Have written all my symptoms down so I don't forget anything.

If it is nothing then I could just get something stronger for the heartburn!

You sound really positive, and organised. Good luck - let us know how it goes, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you x

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/02/2009 16:03

To be honest, I have had symptoms of lot of things throughout the last few years and always turned out to be nothing after tests. I know that doesn't mean I won't have it, but I am a bit worried about causing a fuss over nothing. My mum is coming with me to my appointment although I would have been fine anyway.

I will let you know how I get on.

soon2b - so sorry i have been in work today and not had chance to check in here. I have been thinking about you though and have checked on here as soon as I got home.

Hope your appt went okay and you are fine.

Please update us when you are able x

Rascal1979 · 09/02/2009 22:50

hope everything is okay with you soon2be x

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/02/2009 23:00

Just a quick update - Urine was fine and so was BP! Having some bloods done this week to check for annemia etc and wil have my 28 week bloods done at the same time (although I am actually 30 weeks).

Have MW on monday too.

One thing that annoyed me is the Doctor is telling me Gavison is the only thing they can give me for heartburn. I know from mumsnet and SIL that there is better stuff avaliable.

babyc · 10/02/2009 16:59

I'm glad all is well! Now you just have 10 weeks to wait - I'm 30 weeks too and so, so fed up and in pain, lots of sympathy going your way

Rascal1979 · 10/02/2009 19:09

Glad all was okay x

soon2befamilyof4 · 11/02/2009 12:21

10 weeks just seems such a long time. I just want this over with now. I know it sounds awful but I am hating being pregnant.
