I'm 28+4 and the baby is always getting hiccups... this is my first baby so don't know what's normal? Should I be worried?

Thanks x

How do you know when our baby has hiccups? Haven't experienced this yet as am 18 weeks, but am interested..

Bicnod · 07/02/2009 09:16

Hi EvieBear

It feels different to the usual kicking, elbowing and squirming - the movements are far too regular to be kicking and just feel like, well, hiccups! I don't really know how else to explain it other than to say that it is too rhythmical to be random kicking... it's a bit gentler than kicking as well. It is very very funny I was just worried that it was happening too often, I think I'm going to have a very hiccupy baby...

Congrats on your pregnancy by the way have you felt the baby move yet?

x

normal. I'm 37 weeks and mine has been hiccuping for around the last 6 or 7 weeks quite regularly and in fact, is doing it now as I type.

Perfectly normal! My DD had hiccups all the time in the third trimester when I was pregnant. She is now 18 weeks old and still has hiccups all the time, at least once a day, poor thing!

wait until you're nearly due and then baby gets them......feels like it's headbutting your pelvis! Quite a weird sensation.....
