fetal heart rate on early scans

I had my 11+ week scan last week (it took 1.5 hours compared with the 20 minutes each for my other pgs). All seemed well except raised fetal heart rate (181) (I don't recall this having being counted on previous occasions). Need to return to see it again tomorrow. Dr was not very forthcoming about what this might mean - probably it doesn't mean very much. But am actually starting to fret - has anyone else had this result?

I am 38 but have not had problems in pregnancy previously.

bumping for you. I have no information for you, but hopefully someone will come along in a minute and help you out

Very bad of the doctor not to give you any information...make sure you ask all the questions you have thought of since coming away when you go tomorrow.

I dont know what problems a fast heart rate would indicate but 181 isnt huge

normal heart rate for an adult is somewhere around 80-90 beats a min and fetal heartrate should be double that so 181 isnt far off

I had heartbeat traces several times during pregnancy and the heart rate has been up at 183 as he jumped about .. he is now happy healthy 3 year old

good luck with your pregnancy
