I have a bump, a small bump. Bit bigger in the evening and some jeans are now tight but on the whole only put on 3 pounds (through eating chocolate mainly!) But really don't have a bump and can't feel baby either.... it this all normal? (1st baby - everything worries me!)

Hi Newbie. I had my baby last year. It sounds normal to me. I just started to get a little tummy at about your time (helped by a weekend stuffing my face in Italy!) and felt fluttery movements at about 17 weeks-ish. For some people it all happens a lot later. Try not to worry too much - but obviously talk to your midwife as well, if you're really worried about anything. Enjoy - it's an amazing time!

hi with my first baby I didn't really start to show until 20 weeks, and I'm pretty certain I didn't feel any flutterings until after that. Try not to worry you sound absolutely fine!

Hi Newbie

I'm 19 weeks with my first, and have only started getting large in the past two weeks. My jeans started to get uncomfy around 16 weeks, but maternity clothes are still too big. And I didn't start feeling stirrings until about 18 weeks. Now, I feel them all the time! So, only a few weeks to go for you too...

Thanks - just keep getting comments like 'are you sure your having a baby?' Making me think that there is something wrong as I don't have a huge bump and perhaps there is hence why I don't feel The Bean ( baby pet name for now..)

Hi, with my first i didn't show until very nearly 25 weeks, really don't worry

At sixteen weeks I was a stone and a half lightet than normal. At 20 weeks I went to a wedding and nobody believed I was pg. At 38 weeks one of my neighbours thought I was just a bit fat! (DS was born the next day!) All bumps are different shapes and sizes and first bumps tend to be smaller and later as your tummy muscles havn't been battered too much.

I felt him about 20 weeks - sounds like you are completely normal!

Hi - I had comments about small bump all the way through pregnancies 1 and 2. I found it really annoying!

But I remember specifically that at 17 weeks with baby 1 (for some reason I remember this as it was Christmas time) I was still wearing my normal levi jeans..and hardly any bump. I think I had a definite bump by 22 weeks that time.

With baby 1 I felt movements about 19 weeks and baby 2 a week or 2 earlier. I don't think you need worry.

I'm 13 weeks now with baby 3 and hoping not to get noticeably pregnant for a few weeks so that I don't have to tell work! It's a funny in between time until you feel the movements isn't it?!

thanks everyone - it is a funny time, every sensation I think could be a baby move - it's not.. am just wishful thinking !!! Good to hear bump is normal was starting to wonder if there was really a baby in there afterall!

If you are on the tall side, your baby has more room so no need to pop out. My friends and I am all over 5'8" and none of us had noticeable bumps until after week 20. I'm 23 weeks and only really felt movements around week 20, now the little monster won't stop! My weight has also finally started to increase steadily, I'm sure yours will too. Be grateful, this way you might not end up the size of a whale by the end, but just have a nice tidy bump

I didn't show at all at 16 weeks and still wore all my normal clothes (this is 1st pg). Started feeling baby move around 17/18 weeks. Bump popped out almost overnight around week 20 - people were so astonished to see such a change in me from one week to the next. Good luck and hope all goes well!
