i've not had any so far, but it's early days...am hoping it will begin soon as it's supposed to be a sign of a strong pregnancy

I was 7 weeks yesterday and have felt like shit all day today. Don't wish for it.

kissmummy · 31/01/2009 18:09

oh i know how bad it feels - i had it with my DS. but after two miscarriages you do "want" these symptoms, mad as it sounds...

DS - felt vaguely queasy from around the time my period was late, but nausea only really kicked in at around 6 weeks.

DD - threw up violently a couple of days after my period was late (was how I knew I was pregnant, really), then felt fine for a couple of weeks, but by 7 weeks I had hyperemesis and was throwing up constantly for the next 10 weeks or so . I wouldnt wish hyperemesis on my worst enemy, frankly!

kissmummy · 31/01/2009 18:24

yes i'm definitely NOT wishing for hyperemesis! poor you, it must have been horrendous.

nausea 5 weeks, sickness started at 6 weeks remained until 18 weeks.

SmallShips · 31/01/2009 19:11

DS - Not until 8 weeks, threw up 3 times, but it stopped completely at 13 weeks.

DD - Had hideous nausea three mornings in a row before my period was due, then one day after, then it all went completely.

lizziemun · 31/01/2009 19:18

It is a sign but not everyone gets it.

I'm 34wks pg with my 3rd and i have never had morning sickness with any of them.

auntyspan · 31/01/2009 19:20

About 6 / 7 weeks both pregnancies. My first symptom with DD1 was tingling boobs, my first symptom with DD2 was the sickness - so I think it all depends on the pregancy!

Good luck though.

highrise · 31/01/2009 19:21

For info, of 5 people I know who've been pregnant or had babies in the last year, I'm the only one to have had any sickness, all the rest have had nothing, all have had healthy babies or still have good pregnancies.

Best of luck.

10dpo with all my pgs to varying degree's. when i was pg with ds the first inkling i had was throwing up into the kitchen bin when the chef put a roast pork joint next to me however, i firmly believe that ms means v little regarding viability. the worst ms i ever had was with my 3rd mc and i threw up once in the local high street. classy!

kissmummy · 31/01/2009 20:16

hmm, interesting. lissielou. i don't have much to go on, except that with my DS i had terrible morning sickness from about seven weeks, whereas with my two failed pregnancies (both first trimester, thankfully) there was none...as people have pointed out though, every pregnancy is different. as you've had miscarriages, you'll know how hard it is not to be look for good/bad signs all the time, however illogical ....

5 1/2 weeks with first and 6 weeks with second, tho onlu lasted two weeks for both.

First time WAY worse and did lots of dry retching and every smell really got to me, and very tired. Second time just a tad queasy.

First baby girl, second baby boy....

hellymelly · 31/01/2009 20:40

just before six weeks-and it never went away.uggh.it was 'orrible.

silentlywondering · 31/01/2009 20:46

First pregnancy just felt sea sick all the time.

Second pregnancy nothing - m/c

Third pregnancy - threw up maybe 4 times

fourth pregnancy couldn't keep anything down from 6 weeks to 9 weeks when I had my second m/c

So far this pregnancy - from 6 weeks constant chucking up till yesterday when I saw gp who gave me anti emetics so I can at least keep my thyroid meds down as they are quite important. Still feel sick and gag reflex is having a field day but not been sick in 24hrs.

purlease · 31/01/2009 20:46

Never really had serious morning sickness but did feel a bit queasy around 8 weeks which I was delighted about because like you I had a miscarriage and wanted symptoms to show that all was well even if it meant feeling crap. Felt very tired too.

silentlywondering · 31/01/2009 20:52

Should add I am only 7+3 now so a long way to go before I stop worrying!

xxhunnyxx · 31/01/2009 20:53

I was first sick about 3 days after my period was due (I didnt know i was pg then) but then I wasn't sick again till about 7 weeks pg n nausea started from about 5 weeks.
Some ppl don't get sickness at all tho, my friend has had 2 healthy pregnancies and wasn't sick once in either.
I'd be careful wishing for sickness too, I'm 18 weeks pg now and mine is only just goin away now, it's not nice, but yes it can sometimes be reassuring.
