Hello everyone,

I've recently discovered I'm 9 weeks pregnant, due on September 1st. I had a scan yesterday, it was amazing! Baby is 2.29cm long and hearing the heartbeat was incredible! It's been a pretty stressful time, I'm 23 years old and have only been with my 19 year old boyfriend for a few months. Ever since I told him the news, him and his mum (who I live with) have been on and on at me non-stop to have an abortion, but I just can't do it. He said it was either him or the baby, which has left me pretty hartbroken, but I have to do the right thing. I'm moving back with my family who are going to support me.

Anyway, just had to get all that out I guess! I look forward to being on the forum!

Sam

Congratulations ! Sorry to hear you have had such a negative response to your lovely news. Well done for having the strength to see through your decision in difficult times.

Congratulations Sam, we are due around the same time, I am due the 31st August. I haven't had a scan as of yet(well i say i haven't, i have had one done at the EPU because of pains etc)...mind you neither have i seen the MW which is getting a bit frustrating
Its a shame about ur bf and his mum but at least your family are there to support you through this momentus time. Its so exciting isnt it
Anyway once again congrats to you

hello louise,

It sounds to me like you have done the right thing. Any boy man who can give you an ultimatum like that isn't really fit to be a father.

Good luck and take care of yourself and keep posting on here, you will find lots of support

Thanks everyone!

I had to go to a private clinic to get the scan done, but I had to do it because I was worrying myself sick about it and even after 11 pregnancy tests (yes, 11!...I was like 'they must all be wrong!') I was even utterly convinced the woman doing the scan was going to say something like 'I'm sorry, you appear to have made a mistake, there is nothing here!' But when I saw it on the screen and heard the heartbeat it suddenly made it all very real indeed!

I'm more terrifed than excited right now, me...a mum?! But I'll do the best I can and try my darndest to be the best mum I can be!

Thank you all for your kindness!
