Ok i'm not namechanging but ask that anyone who 'knows' me this is not common knowledge.

Ok here goes.......
(cycles are usually anywhere around 35+)
CD36 (Friday) I took several a test as AF still hadn't arrived. After the test I wiped and there was a smear of blood. Test was negative so I assumed here was AF.

Anyway fast forward to yesterday and my boobs were still really hurting and no more blood apart from the odd speck but only if i went looking So I decided on the way home to buy a test. Lo and behold the bloody thing was BFP!!!! Not too strong but clear enough for DH to see. Repeated again this morning and slightly darker.

But tonight I am having slight cramps in my tummy.
The question I want to know is was this bleed implantation or was it the start of m/c?
Any advice would be a help as my head is all over the place.

CD38 have a tiny amount of blood

I had slight bleeding when my af was due with ds, as for cramping I can't remember as it was 7 years ago. hopefully someone else will be along soon with a more helpful answer xx

I know that some cramping is normal but i'm on pins This has been such a long journey for me I can't quite believe it.

Not an expert but sounds like implantation bleeding to me, especially as it was very slight. Cramping/AF type pains are completely normal in early pregnancy, I felt like I was going to come on at any minute but never did. Good luck and congratulations

Sorry x-posted. What are pins?

pepperpots · 27/01/2009 18:55

Pins in the tentative sense not literal

Ooops sorry I didn't know if it was a type of medication or something [thick]

Please try not to panic to much, the fact you bled a small amount the day af was due ties in perfectly with implantation bleeding. If it was a miscarriage this early it would be heavy and more like a normal period.

If it's any consulation it also took me years to conceive so i know how you feel, I was in constant panic that either I wasn't pregnant or that I would miscarry. Please try and stay positive, you've got a bfp and the signs so far look normal

Hey-I had a bleed on the day af was due, kept testing positive after (up to 4days) went to gp who referred for scan and saw my tiny baby. Lots and lots of cramps but am now 9+ wks. good luck.

Could you go to your GP to be sure? When I was pg with 7mo dd I had a very small amount of blood and cramped as normal when af was due.

Fingers crossed for you

sammysam · 27/01/2009 22:09

I really hope this is a real and very sticky one for you-keeping my fingers crossed for you....
I'm having lots of cramps-am 5 weeks and it is scaring the hell out of me-tis good to hear it is 'normal'

Touching wood for both of us

onlywantsone · 27/01/2009 22:35

I'd say congrats to you - but would go and see GP and perhaps have a scan at EPAU?

I had an ectopic many moons ago and have been warned that it may be more likely to happen again to my one remaining tube...

Good Luck let us know how it goes x
