So many horror stories abound about TwoLeftFeet and Bambino Direct that I figured I'd mention an online retailer we've had fabulous service from, but still with major discounts.
Lullabys. We bought our travel system from them, and they told me not to bother with the matching change bag, or the special sleeping bag just for the carrycot as the cosytoes worked fine - this saved me a lot of money. Then lo, my credit card was maxed out, so they had to politely explain as much. So I got DH to use his. DH cleverly managed to order using his debit card. This was in June, baby was expected mid November. I flipped, as obviously no consumer protection with a debit card - and as we've no car, we got a really excellent travel system. So I made him call back and ask them to cancel that and take his credit card instead. They did, and were incredibly nice about it - said it was very sensible, even. I then decided I didn't want red as he did, I wanted blue - so he called and changed the order colour. Then I got a feeling in late Oct. the baby would be early, so we called and asked them to deliver a fortnight before the agreed date. They delivered the next day. (I was right - the baby arrived 4 days later). We had trouble assembling the pram - and on the phone (freephone number) they talked us through it. When we put together the pushchair part, last week, the instructions and the raincover didn't match; when we called they said "yes, they altered the raincover but not the instructions - the raincover has no zip now, you just pull. Give it some welly, it'll be fine, but if it isn't, call us and we'll courier a replacement out."
I realise we sound complete idiots here, but these people have been endlessly friendly, patient and helpful. And they're comparatively cheap. I heartily recommend them. And I promise I don't know the owner or anyone who works there from a bar of soap.
