Don't take urine unless you've been asked to. prob not heartbeat this early.

If you've got a suitable container then taking urine won't do any harm - my CMW just gave you the stick to take to the bathroom, but the hospital gave me a silly sample bottle (which was a challenge at 40 weeks...)

It should be a booking-in appointment, which will be longer than normal and will give time to go through your medical history and tell you what the programme of care will be through the pregnancy. You may be asked where you want to deliver (mainly so they know which set of notes to give you - they're hospital specific now) and it really doesn't matter at this stage - you can change you're mind right up till the moment you give birth. She should also talk about what scans are offered in your area and, if there's one around 12/13 weeks, get it booked in.

She's unlikely to want to have a feel of your tummy yet, as your uterus won't have stretched out of your pelvis yet. She's unlikely to try and use a sonicaid to hear the heartbeat for teh same reason.

Hope that helps. And congrats on your pregnancy

I took urine to my booking in appt, MW was thrilled!

Don't forget to steal some
sample bottles on the way out!

Can anyone tell me how long it took at their 12 week scan? I went yesterday and the woman was really rude (didnt even intro herself) and I was in and out in 4 minutes (i timed it)
Is this normal?? It was a horrible experience to be honest and I am gutted. She didnt explain anything on the pictures and I now have three photos of I have no idea what, and I can only assume the baby is ok as she didnt say it wasnt.
Any idaes on my next move? Dont think that was right. d you?
