I have to go for a GTT next week at 28 weeks, and the hospital did tell me at the time what I needed to do in the way of fasting etc before it. Since that was at 12 weeks I have completely forgotten though! Can anybody tell me what's the procedure? Cheers!

Hi i went for my gtt yesterday. I fasted from midnight went in to hosp (clmu) at 9am they took fasting blood and another for blood count which was due to be done. gave me huge mug of the lucozade stuff wasnt too bad. when i finished it they counted 2 hrs till they tested again. Then they gave me ante natal checks and sat and chatted about loads of things from packing bags to buying babay things! was quite nice actually. When 2 hrs was up they took my blood again and i was allowed to go home! I wont find out right away what the results are as i live in the highlands and the blood has to be sent to a hosp with a lab which is quite a bit away. But im guessing they will call me if i need to be seen. So that was that it wasnt any big fuss and im glad i have got it done as it will put my mind at rest with some of symptoms i have been having as well.

In my clinic you have to take your own Lucozade....worth checking.
