i have one booked for this weekend - we are so skint atm I just can't seem to jusitfy it to myself dp is keen but i am more keen on buying cot, other bits and pieces that i know will have to wait if we have this done.

Are they worth it? And did you baby look like they did on the scan? I kind of don't want to ruin that feeling of surprise when I first see the baby - although not sure how much they actually look like they do at birth....

I managed without one for my four babies! Save your money!

depends how far gone you are really. ds1 i had one late in pg and he is spitting image pic of him born, ds2 i had one at about 20 weeks to double check he was a boy and although looked like him he obv was v skinny and not as much like when born. If you wanted to confirme sex/health def worth it. maybe ask family for vouchers or something instead of flowers/cards ?

If you're skint don't bother - you're going to be seeing that baby of yours every day soon enough.

i think i might leave it, just not looking forward to handing over that kind of money - i know it sounds tight! Also my placenta is anterior which can effect quality of images and the company i have booked with don't seem to allow you to go back if the images aren't good - you have to re book

thanks.

We had one at 32 weeks, was lovely to see the little fella again but for the 15mins we were in there my DH could not make out head nor tail of him and the lady did her best to point things out but to be honest we said that apart from being relieved that he is head down etc the only useful information we got out of it was being told he had lots of hair on his head!! Very difficult to make out what is what and 3D is a bit spooky too.... Ours was £130 and I think probably I should have put it towards the nursery!!

Thats a shame Littlebok- I had one at 30 wks that had to be repaeated at 32.5 wks (due to issues with recording the images) and we had great results both times and felt it was well worth money from bonding perspective, but I'd say only if you have the spare cash. Definately an optional extra and not necessity.

Think timing, position of baby, and amount of fluid in front of face effect clarity of images.
