I have just realised that I am knackered all day and start to wake up at about this time.

Normally I am an early to bed kind of person.

Pregnancy hormones? Has anyone else experienced this?

i don't remember it happening last time but I was working full time with a long commute so spent all my spare time asleep!

My first pregnancy I slept constantly and had lots of early nights, confusing dp as I'm normally a total night owl. However, ds is still in our room until we can clear out his bedroom to be and I'm due on Monday with a second baby, and my bodyclock has gone haywire. I'm tired all the time but can't sleep properly at night. At least now I'm on maternity leave I can get a bit of sleep in the mornings.

It's not just me then!

It's bound to be hormonal isn't it.

I wonder if it's also because I've been so lazy as I've been feeling rubbish - so I've not been getting at all physically tired IYSWIM.

Oh yes mine did this I think it's to prepare you for when the baby comes. I noticed the stupid times I found myself awake 2-5 am usually was exactly the times the babies woke when they arrived.

Why don't the books etc think to mention these things?

So far this PG I have discovered:

Ante-natal depression (what a laugh that was - 1st trimester)

Loony body clock

What will be next?

Oh yes and today I had a coughing fit and wet myself a bit

Pmsl after 3 kids the youngest being one I still wet myself a bit when I cough or laugh!

I used to wake a lot at night time. Especially near the end, when DH said he thought I was probably preparing for the arrival of DD. I would wake several times, and often be awake for hours, wide awake.

pavlovthecat · 24/01/2009 22:49

Ledodgy - sorry just saw you said that!!!

Ledodgy · 24/01/2009 22:49

Me too and the amount of times you have to get up to wee!

tumtumtetum · 24/01/2009 22:52

I am waking early and lying awake - but I did that before.

It's this whole perking up at 10pm thing when normally (even when not PG) I am in bed by 9.30 that has me stumped.

Thing is i do feel tired - just not ready for bed IYSWIM.

Or could it be I'm addicted to MN?
