Im in agony but it doesn't feel like contractions, what the hell could it be? Braxton Hicks?

OP posts:
pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 21:53

they are starting around the bottom of my bump and travelling all around it.

Could it be labour? I'd speak to mat ward and see what they say.

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 21:56

My bump is going rock hard, I feel quite ill and haven't eaten for ages and don't feel like food. Shit I hope it isn't. I don't know though.

TBH, Thats what it sounds like I was sick as hell when I went into labour and threw up everytime I tried to eat anything.

Ring mat ward - they won't mind.

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 21:59

Thanks Lucky - I feel a fraud though if it isn't. I will see how I go over the next hour, they don't feel like contractions, I got a lot of back pain with DD1 and DD2, this is around my bump and down my right side especially.

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 24/01/2009 22:00

Could be braxton hicks but i'd still ring. They prob won't ask you to come in but they'll be able to guide you better. Have you timed them to see if there is any regularity?

BabyBaby123 · 24/01/2009 22:02

have you had any other signs? a show or anything?

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 22:02

They don't seem to be coming at any regular intervals, just at intermittent times but very frequently. It sort of feels like the baby is doing something!

OP posts:
pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 22:03

No Baby nothing else. I was 11 days early with DD1 and 6 days late with DD2 so could be either way. Waters broke and had show with DD1, went into slow labour with DD2 and was induced to speed things up. No pattern at all!

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 24/01/2009 22:03

Is baby perhaps engaging (although I got no experience of this DD never engaged properly)

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 22:04

Baby was 4/5 engaged 2 weeks ago but midwife said baby could pop in and out of pelvis.

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 24/01/2009 22:06

I hate to say it but all the more info coming up is saying this may be the start.

Leave it for a bit if your not too worried and see if you get any more regular/a show etc.

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 22:07

I am exhausted today, have done a lot with the kids so maybe my body is just a bit worn out. Would be great if I did go as am fed up but a bit if I did.

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 24/01/2009 22:08

hmm maybe it is your body.

If your not panicked and its not going to stop you from sleeping, I'd leave it for now but keep an eye on it and make sure you can ring if you need to.

BabyBaby123 · 24/01/2009 22:08

got any raspberry leaf tea? i would get drinking if i were you! Sounds promising

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 22:11

No raspberry tea!

Just text Lulumama, she will tell me what to do!

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 24/01/2009 22:14

huh!! Just not good enough for you eh?

Hope lulu comes up with some good advice for you - she normally does!

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 22:24

PMSL Lucky - course you are!

She said to have a bath, if they are false labour pains, it will make them go away, thing is, I cannot be arsed getting in a bath.

Will see how I go, it may be a longgggg night!

Thanks ladies, will keep you informed.

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 24/01/2009 22:25

hehe - I know that feeling. Do you have a power shower? You could run that into your bath - fills it quicker

Good luck

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 22:27

Bath fills really quickly, I just can't be bothered to traipse upstairs. Having some tea and toast as haven't eaten since 3.30pm.

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 24/01/2009 22:29

lol - Good luck then, I'm signing off i'm afraid. If it becomes contractions then i'm sure if you start a thread saying I'M IN LABOUR someone will help

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 22:32

Thanks Salem and goodnight! - if I do that, I will get all the Saturday night pissheads! They will be telling me to have a go at delivering her myself.

It is probably strong BH. Fingers crossed I go into labour though.

OP posts:
weetimerousdizzybeastie · 24/01/2009 22:34

who are you calling a pisshead you cheeky mare!?! have half a mind to go and get drunk just incase you DO go into labour

wishing you all the luck in the world - and don't you DARE speak to me about names until she is signed sealed and DELIVERED

pgwithnumber3 · 24/01/2009 22:40

LOL! Took me a minute to realise that was you then!

I will still be here tomorrow, not my luck to go early when I have 2 to run around after, this one will wait until I am 2 weeks over before making an appearance.

OP posts:
weetimerousdizzybeastie · 24/01/2009 22:44

yes, sorry, forgot I've got my Burns night name on

if she comes tomorrow there will have to be something scottish in her name - am happy to settle for middle name though so don't panic
