Has anybody tried using one? I'm 28 weeks, on my feet most of the day at work and getting strong braxtons hicks type pains. There are thin ones and thick ones, does anybody have any advice?

hi Scaredycat3000 - I used a support belt for preg #1 but was for SPD. mine was very wide across the back with velcro straps across the front. it sat under bump. unfortunatley i cannot tell you where to get one from because i got mine off a physio, but I have seen versions of them in most of the baby websites.

If you are on the Due April 09 antenatal thread (I'm on the May 09 one) the ladies there may be able to give you some advice.

Bought the carriwell adjustable support belt(as in babies r us catalogue)during last PG bit never wore it,as the elastic very hard & dug into my belly &t highs when i sat down.
But i did have a very low bump.
Have just bought the mothercare support belt, only a tenner & it seems very comfy so far.Sizes r not very generous though. Have had to buy large,am a size 14 and 16 wks PG. Am getting stretching ligament pains & wanted a bit of support. It feels like an extra bit of lift, recommend it for non specifically medical purposes.

mumface just wonderin what this stretching ligament pain is like? I get a pain down my right hand side and round my back, it feels like a stitch like pain but u dont get a stitch in your back .
Also got probs with my lower back and sciatica so don't know if it's connected.
Seein a physio on wednesday so hopefully she will be able to tell me what's goin on.

I really loved a bellybra. www.bumpsmaternity.com/items.php?level1Key=1&level2Key=4&level3Key=9&pageKey=3

Really helped, esp in the 3rd trimester.

My ligament pains are like a sharp achey pain down both sides, sometimes in the middle.

Yeah that sounds similar to what I'm experiencing, except it's only down one side.

Thanks for your replys. Saw a Doctor who said they sounds like growing pains, and overwork, makes sense to me.
