Thought you were supposed to get constipated? Worried now as usual!

Only had it today and was a bit constipated for the last 2 weeks (am 6 weeks pg) anyone else had this and been ok, or is it a sign of hormones dropping??

miinx, i've had the same. now i seem to get a few days of constipation, and then a few days of diarrohea. apparently its normal. I was reassured by someone on here but my dr was unconcerned. its just the hormones changing, i think. lovely!

how are you other than that?

Hi, I posted about this a while back as I was worried too, I had a few days of diarrhoea when about 5.5 weeks PG ish. It soon settled down and my babba is perfectly fine! (I am now 14 weeks PG and had my scan this week).

Try not to worry I think it's the initial hormone surge or something, I ran it past my HV and GP too and they said it wasn't anything to worry about. You having any other symptoms?

here's my original post

pregnancy messes with your digestion hence the constipation. Then its pretty normal for that to be followed by diahhroea-it's your body liquifying things up to get it out of your body (nice).

As long as you're not poorly with it I'm sure you don't need to worry. I'm 20 weeks and rarely have a normal poo! The things I find myself saying on here...

sore boobs, v tired today (although having trouble sleeping, think it's anxiety), feel nauseous a lot of the time, yesterday on MSc course felt dreadful, thought I was going to yak in the lecture!

Feel a lot sicker a lot earlier on than with dd, although I like it in a way cos it's nice and re-assuring. Also with dd only wanted to eat fruit and went off eggs and fried greasy things, now just want to eat stodge and shoved 2 hard boiled eggs in in quick succession for tea yesterday!

Am struggling to eat tho, have lost appetite a bit which again worries me as was ravenous with dd

I had dreadful runny poos when I was in early pregnancy - horrible crampy pains and everything I ate went straight through me..... good though as I didn't put any weight on

Think it's fairly normal though.

Just found this thread. Am now 6 weeks pg, too, and going through exactly this. Feel most reassured now.

(Can't believe DP has just been watching me type this ...)

I was like this to begin with...now am completely the opposite and very uncomfortable unfortunately its just another things that us wonder women have to go thru. It will pass at some stage, also had this with DS1+2 but can't quite remember when things kinda wend back to normal. I have been taking a lactoluse solution to soften things up (soz TMI)
