I just read a magazine article which seems to suggest there is no medical evidence to support the theory.

Here and now I would like to offer myself up as medical evidence. I SWEAR I never used to be this stupid!!!!

Me neither. It exists and it's got me.

xxhunnyxx · 23/01/2009 14:02

Thank God it's not only me!!

I seem to have even lost the ability to form sentences, read and spell!!

If I was like this when I wasn't pregnant I think I'd be dragged in to my managers' office, I'm constantly making stupid little mistakes at work lol.

I can't wait to see my old inteligent brain again ha ha ha

snowleopard · 23/01/2009 14:08

What bollocks! Of course there's such a thing as baby brain.

When I was pg I took our landline cordless phone out with me thinking it was my mobile, then took it out, tried to phone home with it and wondered why it said "out of range".

My friend put a chicken all ready to roast, inside her washing machine.

heverhoney1 · 23/01/2009 14:13

xxhunnyxx you have it spot on. I cant function to do my job properly. Think manager is only being easy on me because he cant deal witht he hormonal tears!!

I was no Einstein before but now - jeez

I walk between 1 room and another and forget why I went there. Multi -tasking?? Forget it!! I cant do 1 thing right let alone 2. Is this how men feel normally

Someone tell me it gets better

well I'm 35 weeks and......
sorry, what was the question?

NotADragonOfSoup · 23/01/2009 14:45

I have a theory.

You can not create braincells, therefore when you are growing your baby, you have to donate some of your own. Voila! BabyBrain.

heverhoney1 · 23/01/2009 14:50

does that mean they never grow back??

NotADragonOfSoup · 23/01/2009 15:36

I can't remember. I have 3 children...

May67 · 23/01/2009 15:52

Does anyone else start sentences and then... just....well.....

(Looks up from computer and wonders why DH and DD are staring at her)

brettgirl2 · 23/01/2009 17:41

My driving has gone completely to pot

FruitynNutty · 23/01/2009 21:00

I can;t even speak properly! Everytime I try to have a conversation my mouth forgets how to work When I can speak I keep saying things I don't mean - I've put my foot in it far too much lately

FruitynNutty · 23/01/2009 21:01

Oh just remembered during my 1st pregnancy I was a Nanny and put the little girl's shoes in the fridge then wondered why on earth I couldn't find them!

xxhunnyxx · 23/01/2009 22:37

Lmao at this thread!

Brettgirl my driving has also gone to pot, forget to slow down at junctions or sharp corners, I drive thru lights without even noticing whether they're on green or not! Useless!

I open my mouth and have no control over what comes out, often what I say doesn't even make sense.

mumof2andabit · 23/01/2009 23:19

Am on my third pregnancy..........there's so little left I do wonder how I'll function soon!

mum2b09 · 23/01/2009 23:33

heverhoney1 · 24/01/2009 20:35

When I was pg with DS2 I was at work (vets) and making up a prescription, I measured out the tablets three times and still had the wrong amount when the vet cgecked them. I was using an electronic pill counter

HeinzSight · 24/01/2009 21:35

I have TOTAL babybrain. I misplaced my mobile yesterday, so I used the landline to phone it, I heard it ring on the table next to me, and I said 'Oooh' in surprise, I thought someone was ringing me, I then realised the mistake I'd made as it was me ringing me! This was all whilst DH was standing right in front of me sniggering

xxhunnyxx · 24/01/2009 22:09

I ordered my pram & car seat today and the lady took my car details to check that the car seat is suitable.
Me:''I've got a Corsa''
lady: ''what year?''
me: ''erm it's an 05 reg, so what's that? 2001?''
lady: ''if it's an 05 reg then that's 2005!''

woops major embarassment!!
