Just wondered if anyone has got pregnant while exclusively breast feeding (my baby 2 months)? I thought it was impossible, but someone just told me its rare but could happen. I'd like to hear if its happened to anyone?

It is perfectly possible.

oh yes. coz a period is the end of a cycle and not the beginning

Yes, my good friend had her 2 youngest 10.5 months apart even though she was exculsively bf I guess the trouble is knowing when you concieved though, especially if you never had a period after giving birth iyswim.

yes it can and does, some women do ovulate despite totally exclusive breastfeeding, i know several women this has happened to!

if you are sure you don;t want to chance another pregnancy so soon after birth, then additional contraception is needed too, remembering no contraception is 100 % effective, but some thinsg are more effective than breastfeeding

Thanks. I had some strange blood spotting the other day (really slight). My post pregnancy bleeding dried up weeks ago. I assumed it was just a stray bit of blood that got left behind. Now I'm wondering whether it could have been implantation bleeding. Dumbly thought pregnancy was impossible breastfeeding! Think I better go and buy a pregnancy test!

My MW would have forced a huge paper bag of condoms on me when I had my DD... but I was single!

Find it odd though that I only got pg the month after I stopped BFing my DD (a month before her 3rd birthday).

I did, DS was 16 weeks old when I got pregnant with DD and I exclusively breastfed him, in fact I breastfed til he was 8 months old. I used to breastfeed and throw up into a bucket at the same time I so hope he doesn't remember that, my morning sickness was unbelievable.

So yes, you definitely can best thing that ever happened to me though it was so scarey when we found out.
