Extreme tiredness in early pregnancy? any other reason.

I'm only 6 weeks pregnant but the tiredness is crippling me - it was the reason I first tested two weeks ago as I kept falling asleep in the day time. It's not a 'oh I feel like I could do with a nap' thing - it's like I can be half-way through typing a sentence on the computer and just find myself falling asleep. I feel like I'm being drugged and take ages to 'come to' as my head feels fuzzy as well. I keep falling asleep whilst looking after my two girls (aged 4 and 2) and waking up to chaos as they have been unsupervised . I do remember being tired with my other pregnancies but nothing like this, this is like some kind of torture and I'm worried that there must be something else wrong with me as well to make me this tired. Any ideas?

No it is crippling and you do forget- just like childbirth With both dc it was the tiredness that convinced me to test, as I'd never known anything like it. Do go for a blood test if you are worried though- now might be a good time to make sure you are getting enough iron fro example? Congratulations!

thanks littlelamb - maybe I have forgotten how bad it is. - I guess if I didn't have the ability to forget the whole process then I wouldn't actually have allowed myself to get pregnant again .

I felt like I couls have slept 24/7 for the first three months of my 4 pregnancies. The firsty trimester is tirerind anyway, but if you have two other children it is normal to run out of energy even quicker!
