I'm only about 5 weeks, got BFP on saturday gone, But today I had the tinest bit of spotting, so light that i nearly missed it but now I can't stop worrying.

Has anyone else ever had this?

Memoo - Don't worry I had the same thing in both my pregnancies. Most women get spotting round about the time their period would be due. If you are only 5 weeks pregnant this is probably the case. Can I ask what colour it is & how much?

memoo · 21/01/2009 16:24

it is bright red and its just tiny little flecks when i wipe

Haven't got much time to post so will post this in case I miss you If the bleeding is bright red & there is a significant amount then I suggest you see a Dr as soon as possible. If it is a dark red & there is only a small amount the best course of action is normally to rest as much as you can this afternoon/evening. Sit on the sofa with your feet elevated if you can. If it continues I would make a Dr's appointment. For me it stopped after a day. Hope this is the same for you.

Cross posted. I wouldn't worry about it too much at the moment. Rest for the next few hours. If the bleeding gets any heavier or if you are in any pain go straight to your Docs or hospital.

Soph73 · 21/01/2009 16:28

FWIW I remember worrying myself silly both times it happened to me. Just remember that if you do decide to go to Docs or hospital they are used to this and are very helpful & understanding. IME anyway.

Hi Meemo- I've hhad this with both my pregnancies and I worried myself sick first time round.

Go to the hospital if you are really worried, but its probably just implantation bleeding.

Good luck

Soph73 · 21/01/2009 16:35

Have got to go now. Hope you are OK & keep us posted

CatIsSleepy · 21/01/2009 16:37

i had some bright red bleeding at this stage, thought my period had started but it stopped quite quickly and everything was fine

memoo · 21/01/2009 16:53

I just wish i could stop worrying now, i'm gutted tbh. Had an ectopic a few years ago so think i'm a bit paranoid anyway

Hey, I had the same for a couple of days..assumed it was all over. Did a test-still positive. So went to gp who referred me for early scan and saw my baby's heartbeat.

CatIsSleepy · 21/01/2009 20:11

try not to worry too much memoo...i had spotting when i was pg with dd as well, and this time around it was actually alot more than spotting (think i started a thread I was so worried). Seems like it's pretty common though...
hope everything turns out OK.

hellymelly · 21/01/2009 20:25

I had this at just the same time,I think it must have been implantation. My (totally tactless)GP convinced me I would lose the baby and I had a scan at the EPU which showed a sac but was too early to see a heartbeat so I then had to wait another week for another scan to be reassured that it was "viable".She is a bouncing 20 month ols now.Loads of my friends have had this too,it seems completely normal.Ask for a scan if you bleed more or it lasts for days and days (I spotted for about three days I think, pinky or brownish spotting)But I think you will be fine.Try not to worry.

Thanks for the messages guys, I went to bed at half 5 last night and stayed there til this morning.

Haven't been able to stop crying though.

I just did two more tests and they were both very strong positives so thats good, has made me calm down a little xx
