Do the trouser waist extender things work?

Just wondering if the extender belts that you can insert into trousers and skirts etc really work? Is it worth buying one? Can't close my trousers anymore, but not big enough for maternity wear yet? Let me know!! Thanks! :-)

Well not really because it's not just your waist that expands. Your butt, hips and thighs all grow so unless they devise something to extend these areas too then I would stick to maternity trousers. A lot of them have elastic bits in the waist which adjust to accommodate your growing bump. Having said that I did have a waist extender thingie with DS but I didn't use it for long.
This time around I used an elastic band to keep my trousers together in the early days

Yeah I am using an elastic band but when my top goes up a bit at work I'm like oops!
Maybe I should get one, I just think they're probably a bit neater than an elastic band... And at the mo I still fit in my normal trousers everywhere else (butt, hips, thighs...)

I've just remembered I bought some of these Bargain and covered up my open flies .

I've got a couple of long, close fitting vests that I'm wearing to hide open flies etc. works ok but not amazingly. ALso wore a pair of maternity trousers for the first time yesterday, felt a bit big but very very very comfy

No. My trousers just kept falling down. The waist of my normal trousers suddenly being wider than the hips meant that the waist bit just kept sliding down every time I moved, and then the fact that they weren't fastened properly meant the whole trouser arrangement kept sliding down.

Elastic band covered by bump band better imo.

Fruity- those bands look very handy indeed! Will pop out to get some at lunch

I used hair bands on the buttons and then a bump band over the top too! In fact I still am now, at 32 weeks.

Oh wow - that makes me feel better. I am 16+1 and don't have much of bump at all!!
