does anyone know if once i start on the £117 will working tax credit make up our money as my husband is on a low wage and we will be at least £150 worse off a week once i start on this when leaving for maternity leave?

I think so. You can always ring them 0845 300 3900. Make sure you have the forms filled in to post on the day your circumstances change, and be prepared to hassle them a bit!

I was filling in my forms for my SMP and there is something in there about claiming extra money if your partner is also on a low income? You just have to say which benefits they receive.

Once you are on ML let the WTC people know as well.

There is a tax credit calculator here at HMRC - you can put in details of your income and it works it out.
