Well I had my scan today as I had no idea how far along I was - I was kind of hoping to be a bit further but the scan said 5+6 and luckily we did see a heartbeat - it's random as I have irregular cycles so had no idea when I conceived - lmp sometimes in Novemeber - anyway turns out that we must have conceived the weekend before xmas when we had a sneaky night away in a little hotel!

It's really good news but I still feel as if I'm a long way from the danger zone, so fingers crossed that this little one stays. Due date 15th September if all goes well.

Fingers crossed for you and CONGRATULATIONS! I remember falling pregnant via IVF with DD1, had a scan at 6 weeks, saw heartbeat and my world just stopped. I spent the next 34 weeks praying everything would be okay. Ever so more chilled with DD2 and DD3 though.

They do say that seeing a heartbeat drastically reduces the chance of miscarriage.

Congratulations hangingbelly! We had a scan at 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat - now happily at 14 weeks with things going well. It does seem to take aaaages to get to 12w but as pgn3 says, seeing the heartbeat is supposed to be a good sign
