Has anyone tried Unisom for morning sickness? Does it work?

I'd love to have another baby but am terrified of the morning sickness part, I had HG both times though wasn't actually admitted to hospital - it wasn't as bad as for some people.

I had cyclizine, stemetil and phenergan but nothing worked very well. It was the nausea that was so awful.

Over in the US I think they have a drug called Unisom, which is a mix of phenergan and vitamin b6 and I've heard it's very good - just wondered if anyone here had tried it?

I don't think I can face another pregnancy unless I find something that helps iyswim.

Thanks.

Maxolon worked btw, but that's quite a heavy drug and I wasn't advised to use it unless absolutely necessary, so I kept it on the shelf and suffered!

Can't help re Unisom, but I've had 2 lots of acupunture and the symptoms have definitely eased. I know how you feel about not wanting to go through it again - I always dreamed of having lots of children but I think I'm going to stop when this one arrives.

Really Picante? I heard acupuncture was good but never got round to finding someone who could do it. How much of a difference did it make?

Well I haven't got it as bad as you had, I had constant nausea and was sick a few times every day. After the first treatment I felt awful that afternoon, but woke up the next day feeling a bit better. I stopped being sick during the day (still am every morning tho), and after the second treatment I've definitely had periods of feeling almost normal!

I know it doesn't work for everyone but it can't have been around for thousands of years without some success.

See here.

Wow, that's a big improvement by the sound of it.
Thanks for the link, will go and have a read!

Great news that the acupuncture seems to be working PICANTE . I was worried that we'd deprressed you on the other thread with our lack of success with it! Great stuff .
PETROVIA, might be worth asking a consultant about Unisom (though see how difficult this might be if not pregant yet). Maybe ask for a referral from GP before ttc? I was lucky in that my HG tapered off at 17 weeks or so, and stemitol did take the edge off it, but agree with you that the thought of facing another pregnancy can be impossible having experienced HG. Good luck

Diege I am so glad you're feeling better (tis me fa!)
Yes stem took the edge off for me too, but I still think it would be a really bad decision to have another baby unless I was able to cope properly with the others - I was useless last time.

Ahhh FA I know what you mean, I def won't be having any more (though I've reached my target of 4 so easy for me to say). I've read too about zofran (?) being prescribed in States with great results - might be worth asking about too? Best of luck with your research. I'll look out for your BFP

Thankyou Diege and will be looking forward to your birth announcement!!
