I have been suffering the most awful constipation and bloating for months. Several people suggested linseed on Wednesday I tried and result -the bloatedness stopped and I went to the toilet. However when I took it again yesterday it helped a bit but I couldnt go iykwim so I took some more and in the middle of the night I got the worst cramping pains in my stomach. They were so bad I thought I might be in labour but Im only 26 weeks. It was just really bad constipation and trapped wind but it was painful and worrying and Im not sure if its related to the linseed or just coincidence. I have taken some again this morning but have not managed to go despite feeling the need. Now I dont know whether to up the dose or whether a similar thing to last night might happen.

I'm taking iron tablets which make me constipated, so my MW suggested linseed to help this. I take a dessertspoonful on my cereal every morning and another spoonful with yoghurt later on in the day. I have not had pains with it but find it keeps me...erm...regular!!!!! If this goes on much longer, I think you should try to see your MW/GP about it.
