Should i call my labour ward? Abdo and back pain. 37 weeks. Stabbing pain in cervix too. MW says babys head 3/5 engaged. 2nd baby. Had emergency cs with DS 2.5 years ago.
Need advice. DH at work and contact for reassurance.
Not sure if pains are contractions. Come verynow and again. But now, every single movement or kick sends waves of agony over whole tummy.

Thanks ladies xoxoxox

Hi dannyg.

My mw is impossible to get in touch with. See her fortnightly at my surgery. Other than that she doesnt answer mobile or txt messages.

I'd ring labour ward and just have a chat with them. They are there to help.
Good luck x x x

Hi dannyg

Weekend been a nightmare. On Friday, pains were awful, but not regular, and not really "contraction like". Had mw appt in the morning anyway. Was horrified to find it was a locum mw anyway, so not even the usual one. Even though she's not great, better the devil you kow, eh? She just told me to stick to paracetamol etc. Then did usual checks, told me bp was fine, measured fine and, more importantly, head was 3/5 engaged.
Later in the afternoon, pain was really bad, despite parac, so called labour ward. They said to pop down. Got there and they examined my cervix and whatnot, said it was softening, but pretty closed. Then they palpated my tummy. Hang on...! They can't work out what's going on in there !
Eventually scan me only to discover she is breech. They say they will try ECV to turn her. Then realsie i've had a previous cs. So no ECV and was admitted to hospital straightaway, incase my pains were early labour. They wanted to monitor my pains, and if they got worse or became established, they were going to take the baby out by cs asap. As apparently they don't let you try to have a breech baby naturally if you have had a prevoius cs.
So i wastold i was being kept in. Got totally panicked, had to try and get someone ther than me to collect DS from his nursery, get hold of DH who works longish hours miles away! Eventually was settled onto ward, where pains got worse. I think due to panic and stress of poss having the baby the next day by cs! Was given Peth overnight, so got some sleep.
Next day when the doc came aound to see me, he couldn't tell what was going on with the baby either. Another scan, only to find she has flipped head down overnight!! So home again to wait and see, though got another appt tomorrow to check everything out!

Phew! Sorry, mega-post!

xxx
