Hi all,

I've had UTI for weeks now and GP only picked it up 2 weeks ago and prescribed Amoxicillin. Took the 5-day-course but it didn't clear the infection. Now I've been prescribed Augmentin which I'm not very happy about it. The research evidence on its safety is not very extensive and several websites say should only be used (in pregnancy) if no other AB options possible.
Has anyone else been prescribed it and with what sort of caution?
Am ver worried about having untreated UTI as well as it being treated with not the most ideal AB. My GP always very rushed and I don't really trust her.

I had it for a UTI last winter, when I was in my first trimester. All seems fine so far, and DS is a bright, happy 18 week old baby. I was very, very sick though so I may not have absorbed it all for a while, but I did have it intraveneously too, as I could not keep anything down.
