I'm 8 weeks pg and have had such bad sickness for the last week or so, so bad that for the last four days I couldn't even get out of bed, keep water down etc then suddenly yesterday I felt much better and have woken up today feeling pretty much fine. Everyone is telling me I should be thankful but I am now really worried that something is wrong.

My morning sickness stopped very suddenly too. Congratulations, the worst is over! If you're worried give your midwife a call.

Don't worry if u have no symptoms there is anything wrong i'm sure there isn't. Just call the midwife or nhs direct and ask them to put your mind at rest.xx

Happy. My cousin had morning sickness like the Exorcist and it stopped overnight.

She panicked, booked in for an emergency scan that day and the baby was absolutely fine - apparently sometimes it does just flick off like a switch.

I am very worried mine seems to have STARTED at 16 weeks! Am getting ill and not sure if that has contributed, but I never used to feel so sick when I was poorly before I got pregnant.

I am worried as I can't find anything on the internet about people wanting to be sick at 16 weeks, is something wrong?

Pinkjenny · 20/01/2009 13:58

Mine stopped very abruptly at 11 weeks. Like turning a tap off.

Weird.

Thanks for your messages, think I was worried about nothing as it has come back with a vengeance a couple of days later so feeling totally awful again!!!

Enjoy it while it lasts!

I had terrible Morning Sickness until week 9, when it suddenly stopped. I was also terrified something was wrong but worried too soon - it came back even worse (I hadn't thought that was possible!!) for week 11 and 12, then stopped quite suddenly (And permanently!).

I think your body gets used to the amounts of hormones in your system, so the symptoms ease off...

Go and eat something yummy while you can

Don't worry. I had terrible MS for the first 15 weeks but I do remember at week 9 suddenly feeling a lot better, it did actually return again though for me. I asked my midwife at the time if I should be worried and she said no as my hormone levels would be varying from day to day so that could be why I had had a few less sick days.
