Evening,

I'm new to MN, my baby's due in April next year.

I had the gestational diabetes test on Monday, and I was so hungry I left without finding out how and when I get the results (plus I was very close to ripping a bag of crisps out of a teenager's hands in the waiting room .

Can anyone help? Many thanks,

C.

I imagine it depends on your hospital/area, but it is usually about a week I think. I would call your midwives to check.

And hello, by the way!

mrsboogie · 15/01/2009 00:15

they should have rung you back with the results the same day

Hello. You usually hear pretty soon if there's anything to tell. I was told I'd hear the next day if there was anything that needed attention but if I didn't hear anything then all was well.

Am crossing my legs though at the thought of a pregnancy lasting till April next year.

I think you'd have heard by now but I'd give them a ring to double check. I did

Ah yes, perhaps I meant April this year . At Christmas I wrote "Happy Birthday" in most of my cards, as baby is eating my brain cells.

Thanks for the information, much obliged.

Hi chazzerd im due april also and having my gtt done on the 26th jan and been told i will get the results on 9th feb.

rosieposey · 15/01/2009 22:27

Hi Chazzer i heard that afternoon and they hauled me in to start insulin the next day but it is my 4th pregnancy and ive had GD in each of the previous. I would hazard a guess that if you havent heard anything then your ok Congrats for April ( Im on the Feb thread and three weeks away now )

It might depend on where you live and how your hosp operates, i live in a rural area and we only have a cmu the nearest hosp is about 20miles and a ferry crossing away so we have to wait for any samples to be sent away and for the results to come back.
