Heartburn and stitch like pain upper back right hand side - am 40 weeks plus 4 days

Have had fairly easy pregnancy, am a bit overdue but today my back hurts, upper right under ribs, also feel a bit constricted around bra strap area. My heartburn has got much worse too, am wondering whether am being a bit of a hypchondriac, or whether other mumsnetters got this late in pg? x

yeah i got like that by about 36 weeks, was about ready to cut DD1 out by 40 weeks!

You are probably just running out of room, however I think a pain on the right side can indicate pre eclampsia. Have you had this pain before?

If not I would suggest you talk to a MW. I don't mean to scare monger and it's probably nothing, but if it's to do with the baby's size I would have thought you would have felt it before now.

The MW will test your blood pressure and check for protein in your wee as these are other signs of PE. Oh, and a headache and visual disturbance can be other signs.
