Where can I try out baby slings/carriers in London?

I'm quite keen use some sort of sling for baby when he arrives but am overwhlmed by the range on offer. Is there anywhere in London where I can physically try on a number to help me decide, like a shop?

TIA

I'm pretty sure they have a few on display at John Lewis Oxford Circus.

Have you joined the NCT/do you plan to? They usually have local supplies of slings for free hire

There's a place in Wood Street in Walthamstow - really tucked away, you wouldn't know it was there unless you knew it was there! It's in the indoor market. I bought my Hugabub sling there a couple of years ago and they do other ones too. Check out www.thecarryingkind.com

Try a Slingmeet?

I think John Lewis and other high street shops usually just have Baby Bjorn type carriers rather than proper slings

Roughly where in London are you? I went to a shop in North West London somewhere, can't remember the name at the minute though...

I liked a wrap sling best for a little baby, so snuggly.
