I was a joyous ray of sunshine during DD and DS's pregnancies, and they were both easy, happy babies.

I am now 5-6 weeks pregnant, and am the most miserable grumpy harridan to have ever stomped the Earth. Poor DH is developing a haunted expression. Am I going to produce a ratbag child?

Were you an evil hag while pregnant? Did you have a rotter of a child?

Suggestion - DON'T read "We need to talk about Kevin"

Sunflower100 · 13/01/2009 20:20

I was an evil, horrible, stressed, anxious (was even axious than my anxiety would make dd anxious fretful baby), tearful grumpy hag during pregnancy and dd was and still mostly is a happy, calm ray of sunshine!

TotalChaos · 13/01/2009 20:21

I was suicidally depressed when PG. DS was a dead easy cheery smiley baby.

mrsgboring · 13/01/2009 20:22

Was going to type bag o' shite, but then actually, I felt completely barking mad during my pregnancies and DS is completely barking mad.

But 'tis different. He is cheerfully dotty whereas I actually felt like I'd undergone a personality transplant to some miserable, downtrodden hopeless wreck of a woman.

So don't worry. It's just that pregnancy totally sucks.

gigglewitch · 13/01/2009 20:23

i had the most hideous, worrying scary-fying pregnancies with both of my dses. they are both happy and easy going little chaps
the pg with my dd was the only one with less worry in the second half, to the point where they even called it "normal" - dd was an easy baby and is now a settled - if bossy- three year old

CatIsSleepy · 13/01/2009 20:23

i was grumpy, so was dd

coincidence?!

am pretty grumpy this time too but i soooooo want a lovely happy, mellow little baby-I'm doomed aren't I?

CharCharGabor · 13/01/2009 20:24

pregnant me - demonic
DD - demonic

Case closed

i am always a miserable evil hag when pregnant. lots of stress and shouting at dp.

i had one incredibly easy going baby
and one devil incarnate

Poppet45 · 13/01/2009 22:28

This research is fantastic. I'm normally an evil, sarcastic bitch but have chilled out to positive fluffiness with my first pregnancy, for the first 12 weeks anyway.
Perhaps I'm carrying the next dalai lama???

Hey CONGRATS MATE!!!

and...

No no no do not fear Ant.

I was a paradigm of joy and hills are alive stuff with dd, and a grumpy beeatch with ds.

Result,
dd a wee bit ahem fiery but gorgeously smart and loving
ds sweet and good humoured with occasionally bouts of toddlerdom.

Point
Makes no blardy difference.

Though I have additional theories. I blame my temper during pg with ds on his testosterone. I do not have any evidence for this theory but it is a scientific fact.

littleboyblue · 13/01/2009 22:41

I was moody, stressed, uptight, worried, anxious, and evil to dp.
Ds is generally a happy, laid back bundle of joy, but so is his father. However if ds is in a mood everyone will know about it. Think this is mine and dp's personalities in him from a genetic point of view rather than an in utero one iyswim

warthog · 13/01/2009 22:42

i bloody well hope not!

MadamAnt · 14/01/2009 18:54

Phew! I can officially declare my worrying hypothesis as a Bag O Shite.

Slur - Do you think I can blame the long white gnome-like hair (singular) that I found growing from the top of my ear on the testosterone??
