I don't think I'm pg. I could be. Due on any day.

We are not TTC with all the dates and charts and sticks etc but I am not using contraception. I am waiting to see what happens. We are TTC to a relaxed way iykwim!

Anyway I have a smear test tonight. Will this be ok if I am pregnant?

I've had a smear test during pregnancy, but you should tell the nurse first.

I had one before I found out I was pregnant and funnily enough it was my 1st successful pregnancy. The doctor asked first if it was possible if I could be pregnant and I replied that I was having sex so yes possible but that I didnt think I was (found out a few days later)
Mention it when you are at clinic, or call them now and see what they say. But I would mention that you are trying.....

Even if I don't know for sure if I'm actually pg or not?

thanks

yes you will be fine
I had a smear and didn't realise i was pregnant.

I also had one whilst pregnant when the doctors knew (clearly) that I was pregnant. But mine were 6mthly ones for abnormal results at the hospital.

Just mention that you are TTC in a relaxed way when you go.

She might get you to do a test first. No harm in just mentioning that you're trrying

SpringySunshine · 13/01/2009 16:01

I had a smear in the midwifery triage room at 26 weeks (obviously not a standard appointment) & it was absolutely fine

princessmel · 13/01/2009 16:02

Thanks everyone I will mention it.

Next thing to worry about, is if it's the nurse I've known all my life. I avoid smears with her for obvious reasons...
