Anybody got a doppler? Anybody recommend any?
I heard baby's heartbeat today when I saw the midwife, it was lovely and thought it would be nice to get a doppler so we can listen to it whenever we like. Also thought it would be nice for my mum to hear it cos she's wasn't able to come to my scan.
I don't want to spend much on one tho so wondered if anybody can recommend a cheapish one that's still good? Or is it just a waste of money?

Hi I've got an angelsounds one off ebay, it cost about £25 including P&P and some ultrasound gel. I can't recommend it highly enough, I've been able to hear baby's heartbeat very clearly from 13 weeks even before the midwife could It's been lovely to let DP and relatives have a listen and is also reasuring untill you feel movement

If you get one make sure it's the one that comes with the gel because that makes a massive difference. If you look on ebay its the white one with the pink heart in the middle it's fab.

Stay clear of the Summer one that Argos and Mothercare sell though as I tried my friends the other day and I couldn't hear a thing and I'm 25 weeks. HTH

Got to agree with Satheresitting I too have an angelsounds one and it is great, found baby's heartbeat first time was a special moment for myself and DH when we heard our little beans heart pound away...I bought mine from a company called Babymad through Amazon, ordered on the Monday before 12pm and had it next day was around £32 for p&p the unit (with headphones) and the gel.

Another fan of the Angelsounds doppler - I bought mine off Ebay for £24.99 and it included a free bottle of ultrasound gel. We were able to hear the heartbeat clearly from about 10 weeks and it was so reassuring, especially as I had had a previous miscarriage and was the most paranoid pregnant person ever!

I could also hear the baby moving in the womb, a long time before I could feel the movement.

I am currently 25 weeks and still use it to reassure myself whenever the baby is having a quiet day!

If you don't get the ultrasound gel, I found that a normal body moisturiser worked pretty well too, you need to put a lot on though.

satherelistening my friends had the summer one from mothercare as well and it didn't work at all. I put it on my stomach and heard nothing, put the Angelsounds one on the exact same spot a few seconds later and heard the heartbeat loud & clear!
