Wow! This seems too good to be true! Thanks for letting me know, I will definitely be applying!

Hawkmoth · 13/01/2009 21:29

Is it for curries and fresh pineapple...

Would actually probably end up saving the state money if people spent it on that and went into spontaneous labour!

EsmeWeatherwax · 14/01/2009 16:57

I got an application for for this from my midwife on Monday...its great! Does seem too good to be true mind, but if they're giving us cash...who are we to complain!

Usthree · 14/01/2009 16:59

Isnt it vouchers?

FruitynNutty · 14/01/2009 17:28

FruitynNutty · 14/01/2009 17:29

My 1st was 12 days late.....

wellbalanced · 14/01/2009 18:47

FruitynNutty · 14/01/2009 19:10
Sad
lou031205 · 14/01/2009 19:39

No, it is a payment into your bank account.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 14/01/2009 19:44

i saw this on aleaflet in my letter re child benefits - thought there would be some catch that wasn't immediately viewable!
is it a long term grant (not pg yet, but ttc soon)

FruitynNutty · 16/01/2009 19:16

I really don't think this is fair at all. I could almost smell this money when I heard about it.
I'm so skint at the moment, the grant would help me out hugely. I can't get it just because my stupid bloody due date is 2 weeks too early I can almost guarantee my baby will be 2 weeks late like my last baby.
I wonder if I contact them they will take pity on me?
I'm never ever entitled to anything, don't get tac credits because I was so confused by it all and now owe them. Don't get help with anything because we both work (for peanuts). Never have any money, work our guts out, paranoid about being able to pay the bills while I'm on Mat leave (self employed)
All this entitlement to money is such a con

thisisyesterday · 16/01/2009 19:21

aww fruitynnutty, can understand why you're so disappointed, but there has to be a cut off point somewhen!

FruitynNutty · 16/01/2009 19:53

yes and I'm , typically, only 2 weeks away from being able to get it.
I should never have thought I'd be entitled to it, not entitled to anything else so why get my hopes up about this

excuse me while I think of a way to rob a bank without being caught...........................
