Just wanted to see if there were any other Mums to be out there who feel the same!!!!

I've got 5 weeks to go and suddenly I'm thinking oh my God!!! The time seems to have crept up on me and I'm worrying about the birth, will the baby be healthy? will we be good parents?....I feel that everyone around me is really excited and I can't be as I'm worrying too much!!..plus people are buying me cute things for the baby and I feel jealous as I want to, but am superstious and so feel cross that they can be this way and I can't - well until the bambino comes along!

Sorry for the rant but please let me know that I'm not alone!!...

I'm due in 6 wks and also scared about health of baby, birth etc. Can't believe time has crept up so quickly but also wishing the next 6 wks away.... can't wait to be home safe & sound with LO in my arms.

I was just like you - its perfectly normal. Don't worry there will be plenty of time for buying cute stuff after the LO is born!

My DD is 11 months now but for the whole of my pregnancy I was convinced the worst would happen - I'm a big worrier and total pessamist! It's really normal to feel like that tho so don't think your on your own - I know its hard but just try to relax as much as possible - take comfort in the knowledge that babies born from 26weeks have an excellent chance of survival and by 36 weeks their not even classed premature! If you have any concerns don't feel like a silly bugger calling your midwife - I had mine on speed dial and even checked myself into hospital on one occasion because I hadn't felt bump move as much as usual! Invest in a hypnotherapy birthing CD if you haven't already and take time each day to just chill out listening to it - they really help!
And don't forget - thankfully we're not living in the middle ages so medical care is the best its ever been - should anything go wrong - but I'm sure it won't! Just enjoy your last few weeks of freedom - life's gonna get pretty hectic from now on!!
Good luck xx

You're not alone, am due in 5 weeks (is my second) and have all the same fears plus some. If you look on the antenatal threads there is a Fab Feb 2009 thread which is basically full of heavily pregnant women freaking out just the same as you are - we figure there must be safety (or is it sanity?) in numbers! - so please come join us if you want to share your fears etc. Its all perfectly nomral - huge life change on the way etc. etc. and all will be fine (and you'll end up buying tonnes of really cool stuff for the little one once they are here and you see what they look like and what will look uber cute on them - and fit)
