im now nine weeks pregnant and i have had one bleed, but think i had a very light brown show this morning but nothing since, my pains have been on and off since i was six weeks and i had a scan at seven weeks which showed everything was fine, i am concerned about these ains as it feels like a dull ache across my stomach and as if im coming on, they are also in my back, i have concern as this is my third pregnancy and the previous two were miscarriages, im looking for reassurance as at 23 i cnt face going through it again, as it is ive taken time off work as pains are so concerning, i dnt seem to get much help from professionals!!

hi abbe sorry to hear about your previous mc's. i too had a bleed before xmas with pains in my stomach and back. i went for a scan and the doc told me it was not new blood and my cervix was closed, it was too early to see a heartbeat so she sent me the following week for another scan, in that one they did detect a heartbeat and all seemed fine. i have to go back again on the 20th for another scan.

ive had a few twinges since and had brown spotting during this week for one day however im on a thread pregnancy after miscarriage and a few ladies seem to have had the same discharge in the past week, all have been for scans which were fine and there midwifes has assured them that spotting is very common all way through a pregancy. you should contact your gp now to arrange another scan just to be on the safe side, tell them you have pains and spotting and they should arrange one asap. or can you go to ur Early Pregnancy Clinic as an outpatient without appointment? you should join us on the pregnancy after miscarriage thread for some reassurance.

thnx for that message i went for a scan yesterday and they said i have an area of bleeding on my left side which as long as it keeps coming out brown its clearing up, baby had a strong heartbeat n movements were seen. its just a scary time as both of my last pregnancies were after 10 weeks.

Hey Abbe - not sure if it makes you feel any better but if you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks your chance of miscarrying drops to 3 - 5%. Good luck!
