Did anyone NOT get morning sickness or any other symptoms but still go on to have a healthy baby...and what was it?

Hi, apart from having slightly sore boobs & a missed period (and two positive hpt) i haven't been feeling sick, or tired, or weeing alot or anything! I know this can be the case in some pregnancies but its still a little un-nerving, can someone reassure me that you can still have a healthy baby...!
I'm nearly 6 weeks. Thanks xx

I wasn't sick once during pg and didn't go to the loo more often throughout! The only things I experienced were sore boobs in early pg and terrible heartburn in late pg. I don't think lack of morning sickness has any implications for the health of your baby.

PottyCock · 08/01/2009 08:40

(and I had a little girl btw. don't think that was indicated by lack of negative symptoms though!)

mumtobe23 · 08/01/2009 08:41

thanks thats good to here, I know i'm being a typical first time worrier so any little thing I panic about!

Just enjoy feeling fit and well and try not to worry.

WowOoo · 08/01/2009 08:49

No morning sickness and a healthy boy.
But was tired and needed loo. Wait til you're further gone and large lump pressing on your bladder permanently. think you may need loo more later on. Congrats!

At 6 weeks I think it's quite common not to be feeling any symptoms and I don't think it means anything. I can understand your worry though as it's a time when not a lot is going on and it's difficult to believe you're even pregnant!

I experienced very slight bleeding early on in both pregnancies. The second time around I had some slight spotting from weeks 7-12. And yes part of the problem was that I could barely tell if I was pregnant let alone if there was anything wrong. I now realise that this is probably something that happens to me in pregnancy.

Don't forget that in ye olden times people often didn't realise they were pregnant until much later on - so it is clearly not obvious to many people early on.

Try not to worry. Hopefully it won't be too long before you start feeling very obviously pregnant .

Thanks, I can't wait till then! I just wish i could fast forward to 13 weeks when i'll know more about whats going on in there! (wink)

I didn't have morning sickness with either ds or dd. Some of us are just lucky - although the crushing insomnia/ tiredness was pretty bad at the time

Lizzylou · 08/01/2009 09:08

I didn't have morning sickness with DS1, was fully expecting to be told there was no baby at 12 week scan, no symptoms at all.
Did feel nauseous with DS2, but not full blown sickness.

Penthesileia · 08/01/2009 09:08

Got a few spots as my first sign of pregnancy (before I knew); my hair went a bit wild for a few weeks; got heartburn in the last trimester. But otherwise, nothing. If it hadn't been for the tiny can-can dancer inside me, I'd've thought I wasn't pregnant at all. Didn't even need to go to the toilet more often, not even in my last trimester.

I was v. lucky!

bobblehat · 08/01/2009 09:31

With ds 1 I had very few symptoms - apart from my boobs increased by 3 cup sizes over night. I was also really tired, but I started a new job on the day I found out I was pg which was working evenings until about 1 in the morning, so it could have been that.

With ds 2 boobs didn't increase so much, and I wasn't tired.

I had no sickness/nausea with either. It really is early days. Just put your feet up and relax!!

tobeingfat · 08/01/2009 22:27

My 1st and also have hardly any symptoms. Felt tired in the first couple of months, but put it down to winter blues and the build up to christmas.

Now am 16wks and have even less symptoms. Got my midwife appointment on monday so holding out for a listen to the baby to remind me that there is a living thing inside.

Should be grateful really as have heard so many stories.

justme85 · 09/01/2009 00:47

My best friend had no symptoms at allexcept her growing bump and she sailed through a 7 hr labour to have a perfect baby boy with no health problems. I have had all the symptoms and I've been told i'm also having a boy, must say tho I got to 6 wks and thought i' got away with no sickness and sadly at 7-8 wks it came and it came badly until I was 20 wks. Enjoy feeling fit while u can. xxx

MumHadEnough · 09/01/2009 00:49

Me, except sore boobies for a while at the beginning.

PavlovtheCat · 09/01/2009 00:52

I had no symptoms at all other than no period until 6+4. Then, the night before I had a scan (some issues), I felt sick, thought it was nerves, but it did not disappear for another 7 months! And now I have a perfectly healthy DD aged 2.5.

PavlovtheCat · 09/01/2009 00:53

oh I forgot to say - congratulations by the way!

dooneygirl · 09/01/2009 00:53

I had no morning sickness, ever with either of my two, and really nothing else except for being a bit more tired than usual. I had one DS and one DD, and 2 fairly short, easy labours. I hope the same for you.

gigglewitch · 09/01/2009 00:59

was sick with boys, not with girl in fact only found out at 10 wks with her.
good luck - whatever you may have!

ThornyRose · 09/01/2009 01:01

I had NO signs at all, apart from missed periods.

I was certain (and terrified) that at my 12th week scan they were going to tell me there was no baby and the pg tests had been wrong.

Thankfully they didnt and I had a healthy baby girl.

Congratulations!!!

ninedragons · 09/01/2009 01:02

No morning sickness at all (but have always had a cast-iron gut), robust 11M girl here.
