ok this may sound crazy but im almost certain that what im feeling is the baby?? teusday night i felt little butterflys or bubble pops as its described at its earliest but a few minuites ago i sweari felt teeny tiny actual 'kicks' very low down. This is dc number 2 and i remember what kicking feels like and this was definately it!!! is this possible???

i was 16weeks pg on 1st
14wks pg on 2nd

i also think if you are thin you feel kicks sooner than if you are padded! I had a little bit of padding on both of mine (not much, but a bit more than wanted!) by 16weeks on the 2nd they were proper kicks that could be felt on the outside.

I am also 10 weeks pregnant and positive I am feeling kicks and think I have been for about a week now. With my ds I felt them at 16 weeks. I am def not further on (well I am sure my scan will confirm this). No-one is believing me, but I am sure!!

I must say I think if you are sure you feel movement earlier than the norm, then you are probably right. I'm sure I felt movement as I said earlier around 11 weeks.

But to describe them as "kicks" is an assumption, and probably not possible that it is definately a foot much before 17 weeks. They're tootsies are just too small to make an impact much before then.

I know people like to use the word "kicks" as a general description of movement and many of you are doing this, but I'm a bit pedantic and like to be accurate

hey thanks for all the comments, well to start with as far as 'padding' goes i must admit i have a bit more than id like, im a size 14-16 at the moment and maybe i am a bit further along im not sure??? i am definately feeling movements (is that the correct wording lotster ) though i am certain of it as i have felt things again today during the daytime. I am starting to get slightly annoyed at the midwife though as i still havnt recieved a phone call from her for my 1st antenatal and was told last friday that they would phone within the next few days! do you think they've forgotten about me?

yesm

Give your midwife team a ring to be sure I reckon.

I was told the slimmer you are the earlier you tend to feel the baby. It may be there are other things moving around down there, wind being one of them! When I put a post up like this early on in my pg was told the baby is totally, totally tiny. Got my first movements at 17 weeks. Have to say it may be wishful thinking, if you look at any online pregnancy week-by-week checker you'll see what I mean.

ok i think i was wrong maybe it WAS wind im not sure it just felt so much like baby but the midwife came out on friday afternoon after i called her and she said it would be almost impossible! i told her about my whole funny period and when she felt my stomach she said she could feel the top of my womb and that i could be further along than i thought but then she searched for the heartbeat with the doppler and couldnt hear it so it was more likely that i am infact only 10 weeks. Well i got really worried that it meant the baby wasnt ok because she couldnt hear a heartbeat but she reassured me that its not usually heard untill around 12 weeks unless you're very slim and she has made an appointment with me to check for the heartbeat again in a week and a half! im hoping i get to hear it then but anyway what i was feeling probaly wasnt the baby!

Glad they've not forgotten you and you've had some re-assurance.

you reminded me, some of the early movements I felt were shortly followed by an, er, "emission", so I got to learn when it was wind and when it was flutter
