i had a scan at 16 weeks and my placenta was prosterier high. Just looked at notes from my 20 week scan and it said placenta anterior high. How is it possible for the placenta to move from the back to the front of the womb?? and in only 4 weeks?

i know, it's so weird. I can imagine it could move up or down but not from one side to the other!

I have no idea other than the usual explanation of it moving around simply due to growth, stretching etc.

Sometimes I think it can be a mistake to read your notes in too much detail. I also think that sometimes midwives and the like are so bloody rushed that they scribble things down so fast they can make mistakes.

I was in and out of hos like a bloody yo yo with ds because bleeding and I am also rhesus neg so mine were like an essay by the time ds was actually born!

I thought it was due to the uterus growing and stretching..if you think about it you bump dosn't only grow up it grows out too.

But i might be wrong.
