Just wondered what the best option is, as I have heard conflicting things re: resting and saving energy and keeping active to keep things progressing?

(Not sure if things are kicking off for me or not, if they are then contractions aren't what I expected to feel like but I am getting random backache at the bottom of my spine every 10-15 mins or so... which might be something or might not. I'm a bit overdue so may be being overly hopeful, but shifting position isn't helping.)

I'd rest now if you can. And eat something if you feel like it. It sounds like stuff might be kicking off and you'll need your energy later.

rest
rest
rest

good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can't bring yourself to try and sleep, try watching a silly film to take your mind off it. Also try and get something to eat - I ended up not eating for 24 hrs while having DS and it left me really low on energy.

Try and ignore as long as poss (easier said than done I know!)

Good luck - look forward to seeing your birth announcement

Another vote for rest and eat. You will need all your energy later on.

Ok - will take your advice and go make some food! Thanks... fingers crossed this is it!

How exciting. Hope it goes well, I have very fond memories of childbirth

yes rest
when it gets painful enough to bother you then try to be upright and active
till then relax
