Saw heartbeat on scan today but they want to scan again in 10days. Does anyone have any experience of this?

There was a thread on this a couple of weeks ago - at this early stage measurements are unreliable. When I had an early scan they didn't even bother to measure the sac, seeing heart beat is a good sign. In the previous thread the OP was absolutely certain about dates because of IVF - could you be earlier than you think?

Yes, this happened to me.

By LMP my due date is end of April, by scan it is 12 May, so when I had an early scan I was only just 5 weeks, not the 7ish weeks I thought I was. After much worry and stress, I decided not to scan again after 10 days and went for the 12 week scan instead. I'm now 22 weeks.

hi 2manychips, seeing a heartbeat is good at 6+5 - remember scanning at this stage can be out, and is very difficult to get accurate results, so often they will scan you again which gives them more accurate assessments ....
its difficult to wait 10 days, but take some comfort in seing a heartbeat ....

So hard not to worry as I'm sure you all know. Was great to see heartbeat though. Brettgirl, I thought I was about 6+5 and thats what they estimated too. Embryo is smallish on their charts but sac is right at lower end. Thanks for your reassurance ladies.
