Private early scanning in Oxford and London?

Hi all, I'm new here and would love any recommendations for private scan (for early scan) in Oxford or London. Been thinking of Lawrence Impey at Oxford Fetal Medicine or Dr Gibb at the Birth Company in London. Has anyone been to either place??

Thanks!

I know people who haven't had good experiences with the Birth Company. I always go to the Fetal Medicince Centre (Prof Nicolaides).

Thanks - that's interesting to hear! Can you say at all what kinds of not so good experiences? I've heard some good stuff about the Fetal Med Centre. I think it's so important that it's a nice and positive experience as I'm terrified all i s not well.

There's one in Tywford near Reading if that's any use.

No but when I lived in London 2 years ago I went here and they were exellent .
They picked up my son had the cord around his neck several times something that 4 subsequent nhs scans failed to pick up and the doctors refused to believe
that was what I was told until my son was born with the cord round his neck several times.

I went to the Birth Company and it was fantastic.

I would only go to Viveka in St Johns Wood and see Bill Smith or one of his colleagues.

I would also recommend the fetal medicine centre. I had scans there with both my pregnancies. They give you nuchal scan results on the day which not everywhere does.

Also, with my DS, I had the scan early in the nuchal window. There was no nasal bone visible which can be a soft marker for downs syndrome. I was really worried and they reassured me that it was probably due to the date and that the other results meant my risk factor was still very low. I went away and thought about it but wanted to have a repeat scan later in the nuchal window to see if the nose was there. When I asked, they were happy to do it and didn't charge me for the second scan. All was fine and I was really reassured.

I was very nervous both times because I had a previous MMC but it was definitely a positive and calming experience.
