Pineapple - ok to eat/drink

I'm 23weeks and have a serious pineapple addiction going on.
I've heard of peple eating it later on to induce labour - so I was wondering if it's safe to eat and drink through out pregnancy.

Thanks - I know I sound stupid!

My thinking is... Yes its safe to eat and drink, Eating fresh pineapple (not tinned) can induce labour but you would need to eat alot of pineapples (is it 7 or something?)
Somebody else will prob confirm soon...

I thought that would be the case but my mil said something to my dh so thought I should check.

It can take as little as 1 fresh pineapple to induce labour but you have to eat all of it including the core( you puree it). Tinned pineapple is fine as the component that induces labour is allegedly lost very soon after its chopped. This info is from what I found out for my self with babies 1 & 2. It shouldn't be any sort of problem at all but if you are worried at all ask your midwife she won't mind!

Thanks kitkatqueen I'm seeing her on Wednesday so might bring it up, she's used to my random questions by now, she's known me 5 years!
