Just been booked in or an early scan due to some bleeding over the weekend. The person i spoke to said i would be on the ward fro between 2 and 2 1/2 hours. I didn;t think to ask at the time but why so long? what should i expect to happen???

If it's like our Early Pregnancy Unit they base it on most urgent cases first. It just means you could have to wait a while, nothing to do with the scan itself which will only be a matter of minutes. Take a magazine to read to take your mind off it.

Good luck.

At our local EPU you have to go to the ward first then downstairs to be scanned and back up to the ward. As Picante says it can involve a lot of waiting about. Hope all is ok.
