hi I am 34+3, so far so good, no complications. Firts timer too. One thing that concerns me though: I feel constantly tired ( strated few days ago), want to sleep all day and night. Does not help the fact that babay kicks and rolls over like anything at night, so can't get a good rest.Sleeping 12-13 hours a day and still feel tired/ sleepy. I am normally very active person, so it is getting to me now: is it gonna be like that till the end of my PG???

I was like this, totally normal as far as I know. Your body is doing a lot of work now and it's easy to get tired.

Make the most of it, my DD is 21 weeks now and I wuold kill for a 12/13 hour sleep!

I am 34+4 and have spent most of the last week asleep! Got up at between 1 and 3 every day - I say enjoy it!!

PinkPoinsettias · 04/01/2009 16:52

35 weeks, spent most of this weekend asleep or resting and i'm still about to drop off from exhaustion!

totally normal, baby is putting on over 1/2 lb a week at this stage so it's draining your system in a huge way.

it is just unbelievable....slept till 3 pm today ( with half sleep through the night because my dear child was doing acrobatics in my belly throughout whole night!!) and now I am off to sleep again!!!! so unusual for me , because i never ever sleep during a day... anyway, am going off to doze off now , sweet dreams everyone

I'd take full advantage and enjoy it now!

lbb.... lock the door to the sitting room, toddler proof, turn on tv and doze on the couch

it's how i've been surviving this preg!

littleboyblue · 04/01/2009 17:19

It was fine. Not nearly as bad as I imagined, had lots of G&A which helped distance the pain. Pushed for 3 hours but he was laying diagonally so had a forcep delivery, but still not as bad as I expected.
No tips really, all seems a bit unreal now iykwim. Think just be flexible with your birth plan if you have one, listen to the mw's but listen to your body too.
Don't feel guilty about having any kind of pain relief.
Try to relax as much as possible in the next few weeks and try not to think about it all too much.

PP I do that when ITNG comes on, but the minute ds sees you with your eyes shut, he comes and slams a toy car in your face!

i am gonna go for epidural: v very low pain threshold. just wondering if I am gonna get one in time, you know how it is with our hospitals

Yes, I wanted one but the drugs man was in theatre so they gave me pethidine which was rubbish, never did get my epidural......had spinal block at the end when the forceps came out.
Hopefully, you'll get yours. Have you spoken to your labour ward and found out their policy on epidurals? Might be worth a quick call.

ranirani · 04/01/2009 21:01

I had a tour during antenatal classes. in my hospoital they give you epidural aftere you are 3-4 cms dilated and untill you are 8-9 cm. During day time they have 2 anest...ists, night time one only.
I think i will give them a call just to make sure

That sounds ok. I didn't ask my hospital prior to ds.
I'm going to try to do it on just G&A as I have a huge needle fear. We'll see how that pans out though
