I would have loved a truly fantastic book that was not about babies!! Like a good historical fiction or something. Just some escapism!!!!

HensMum · 03/01/2009 18:11

I second the suggestion of a book. Or a DVD. Perhaps a box-set in the sales?

Or club together with another friend and get a pampering treatment. Clarins do a lovely pregnany one.

I eat books like air. And I would have loved some escapism and change of mental scenery when I was pregnant! Or any time for that matter!! hehe can you tell I am book mad? Music too I love music but for some strange reason I slightly went off it while pregnant. Dont know why as its a mainstay of my life.

DVD very good idea too!!! I watched the box set to Roswell when I was pregnant that was great!!!

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 03/01/2009 18:19

thanks guys, fab ideas - I did look at the local health & beauty place, who do a massage but it's over £50 - will have to see if the local one will do a facial or soemthing??

hmm dvd set - lets have a think.

You could get her a £20 voucher for local health & beauty place near you and then she could put towards it??

MKG · 03/01/2009 18:33

Does she have any other children? If she does take them for the day. I would love it if someone would come and take my children out for a day so I could have the house to myself.

If not buy a manicure pedicure set, and go pamper her.

Mamma Mio products for mums to be
A pedicure (can't reach my feet now)
A magazine subscription
A maternity top - something pretty; my friend got me something for Christmas from TopShop and it was great because I've only been buying practial things rather than just pretty things for fun, and I can't face going to high street shops either.

Reflexology appointment? Would cost around £25 ish here - maybe get together with a friend? Or if there are a group of you get together and give her something special - baby related or not?

What about one of the Hot Milk pregnancy/nursing bras? They are gorgeous and sooo comfortable and supportive - my dh keeps looking confused at mine and saying "but theyre gorgeous" lol. Figleaves have some in the sale

Or something extravagant just for her that she may not buy herself? Something that can be used when pregnant ie still fits - scarf, jewellery, bag etc

nice PJs - I'm 23+6 amd bought some lovely ones from fat face in the sale recently and they've made me happier than anything else I've bought in the past few months... (I am probably quite sad though...)
