Advice on mattress for moses basket

Have bought a moses basket (£70) from Mothercare, am a bit concerned about the mattress that came with it. What should I be looking for to make sure it is okay (i.e safe)?

What are your concerns?

Surely something from Mothercare should be trustworthy? I used the one which came with our Moses basket with no problems. Basket came from John Lewis.

I was wondering whether I needed to have the same sort of matress as we will be using in the cot i.e. breathable etc.

it will be safe.

if you want to get a more expensive one, then its your call, but the one supplied with it will be fine

Thanks misdee, I don't know why I'm worrying about it, must be my hormones, am 39 weeks and feeling extremely grumpy and anxious today. x

i can understand why u were concerned, for something costing £70 and will be used less than 3months, you'd expect a mattress that didn't look as flimsy as they normally do- but reast assured, as the other mnetters have said, mattress is fine and just the standard type.. good luck

sounds fine

but I think you are nesting

my money's on baby arriving within 3-5 days...

I agree with Mrs Badger. I was really grumpy and tetchy at 38+4. Baby came in the early hours of the next day.

Baby hasn't appeared yet! Thank you everyone for helping put my mind at rest. I'm still feeling grumpy, fed up with heartburn/hips and bits hurting! x
