Baby stopped growing at 8 weeks!!!

I am 9 weeks pregnant now. Went for a regular check-up on the 31st dec and my doc said that my baby's growth doesnt look too good. She said the baby had stopped growing. Needless to say, my husband and I, had one of our worst New Year's Eve. She gave me an injection and has asked me to come again on the 6th Jan for a check-up. She said if the pregnancy itself is weak, then the injection won't help. I am so worried, the wait is killing me! Has anyone had a similar experience? Can a baby start growing again?

Oh you poor thing

Did she say what the injection was - a hormone of some kind perhaps?

How did she tell it hadn't grown, did you have two scans and then she compared them?

The injection was that of progesterone hormone, to aid the baby's growth, she said. She also mentioned that the heartbeat had slowed down.

She was comparing the results of a scan that i had undergone 2 weeks ago.

You must be very worried.

There are lots of people here who have gone through similar, I've no personal experience but somebody will xx

I had a ruptured ovary and had to have emergency surgery during the surgery it was discovered that I was 8 weeks pregnant . I was told i was highly likely to miscarry and the lo would not grow I was given the progesterone hormone and it worked for me He is now a gorgeous 14 year old healthy boy and the light of my life I hope it goes well for you xxxxxx ps are you in the usa ?

thanks mum2boys2girls...makes me feel much better to know there is still hope. Will be meeting the doc this evening. I am just praying everything goes well I am from Dubai.

What I dreaded the most happened! Doc advised me not to go ahead with the pregnancy. I am trying to get pass this phase. Wanted to thank all of you for your support and prayers. At the end, what is destined to happen, will happen.

i so feel for everyone i am in the same boat as NEAT01 i am supposably 8 weeks preganant but i was a week behind what i thought 2 weeks in a row i have gone for ultrasound and the baby hasn't grown and the heart beat is slowing down i have been given progestrone tablets 2 a day as my levels are low but all my other blood test results are excellent i'm very confused, has anyone had this happen????? would love to hear

tracey1380, i'm going through the same situation now. I'm supposed to be 8.5wks pregnant but baby has stayed at 6wks for over a week. The Dr gave me progesterone tablets but it isn't helping, and I've been bleeding for 3 days now. The last ultrasound I had yesterday they said baby's heart beat was irregular. Now I just have to wait and see what happens.

Would be great to know what happened next for you..
