Hello all, I'm new here and would really appreciate any advice / reassurance. This is my first pregancy I'm 8 days overdue and have been to see midwife this morning, baby has still not engaged and has moved to ROP position despite scrubbing floors, going up and down stairs etc. I've read that some babies do not engage until labour starts but I'm beginning to worry theres a problem I don't know about. Has anybody had any similar experiences?

i'm not an expert by any means, first timer myself... but from what i've read its not the end of the world....

Thought i'd post & keep you fresh for someone with a bit more knowledge?!

Good luck xx

I wasn't late, but, the head didn't engage for me until I was in labour, so I don't think it is a problem

Good luck with the next few days,

With both babies they were only partly engaged and both times I went into spontaneous labour. However mine were both LOA, so I'm not sure about posterior babies. I'm sure that wouldn't make a difference wrt going into labour, just the labour itself.

Good luck, it will happen

Thanks for your messages I know i'm probably worrying over nothing and just getting fed up with waiting and feeling huge!

Nah - it's never coming out

Neither of mine engaged before labour. Don't fret.

Have you tried circling your hips sat straddling a birthing/gym ball?

Hi,
my babe didn't engage until they drained (!) my water- I had a lot and so she floated happily along until she had to come out.
